The identity of a country is its heritage and culture. Folk art is an indispensable part of the cultural heritage. It is the most powerful and beautiful medium to showcase the culture of a place. India is a land of vibrant colors rich in art and culture. Every state has its own distinct flavor. Rajasthan, a land of princes, lies in the northern part of India and is situated on the border of Pakistan. It is the second largest state of India. Nearly 1/3 of its territory is covered by the Thar Desert. The Thar Desert of Rajasthan hosts one of the most vibrant music and dance cultures of the world. Rajasthan displays a symphony of art and culture, seldom found elsewhere. It is the land of Maharajas with the invincible forts and imposing grand palaces, the vast Thar Desert, intriguing wildlife, indulging festivals and inspiring history. It is an amazing combination of modern industrialization in the cities and traditional and simple village life.
