"Aim For The Heart" is the lead - off song from the "Aim For The Heart" album on Seeds Records from 1980.
the "Aim For The Heart" album like Paul Clark's previous album "Change In The Wind" in 1978 is filled with "West Coast" style & grooves, but, with a more jazz flavor.
1980 was a pivotal year in the history of CCM. The Jesus Movement had officially lost its childlike innocence. Concern for a movement that seemed to be moving more toward "cross-over" entertainment than ministry, Paul took the same cast of musicians and added bass player extraordinaire, Abraham Laborial, as well as saxaphone veteran, Ernie Watts, to add muscle to his jazz-fusion, ministry rich compositions. Percussion was played by Keith Edwards and synthesizer overdubs were played by Michael Escalante. Established L.A. session background vocalists Phyliss St. James, Kathy Hazard and James Felix added sizzle to the groovin' tracks.
The project closes with two mellow ballads, "Your Loving" and, another wedding song duet classic, "Author Of Love," once again, featuring Kelly Willard and Paul.
Produced by Paul, engineered by Bobby Cotton, additional overdubs were recorded by Paul, Dan Willard, Ross Pallone and Jonathan David Brown. A&M Records legend, Bernie Grundman mastered the project to take Paul's sounds to new sonic heights
