The camera system is similar to the Police helicopter systems. This particular patrol was using the daylight video sensor to zoom in and inspect all the fittings as part of an on-going condition assessment of the whole network owned by National Grid.
Two other patrols conducted are visual patrols (eyes only)
and infrared patrols using the thermal image sensor of the system flown in the winter months.
