Here is another dimension and angle to follow-up your kick with, the overhead ridge hand. Make sure you work on your overall front hand-hand placement to check your opponent and protect yourself on the way in. Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • @OPMDOPEINTHEM old post, I know, but if you train ridge hands on a heavy bag, you quickly realize you've got maintain a bend in the elbow or yeah, it'll seriously hurt your elbow. But once you train that little bend in your arm, you can use as much power as you want safely.

  • a ridge hand is never used in mma i am surprised

  • this looks like a really good technique for scoring points in light contact, and i may try using it in such competitiions, i doubt that in full contact that the would be a strike of choice.

iv never tried it but it seems that this techniques could cause injury to the elbow joint if done with full force.

  • I like this kind of karate but there is not such style in my city, how is it called? Do you do katas? the traditional it's boring as hell!!

  • You should show people how to Use the Ridge hand to counter the side kick either close stance or same stance.
