That's a really good question, as I don't know that either. It must be an information from either one of those notes from Luis, not sure though.
Some people suggest it's from the official Game Manual, others say it's taken from the Soundtrack, where the corresponding tracks are named like "Garrador" and "U-3".

The first two spotlights can be easily knifed, and it's faster than aiming at them. And for shooting IT, well, I prefer tricking it's attacks, that's what I always did.
