Yeah He married the girl down our street . He played and sang to us on his weddin day very rock and roll jumped thru the window but he was good singer

met Emile when he was married to a local Sunderland girl and enjoyed his voice then 1959/60 He was also a nice friendly person Last time I saw him was in the 70's when he was playing in the Bingo halls What a shame but he was still good and very popular

@cobwebs22 Thanks very much for the info,it's always good to hear what great singers like Emile ended up doing, and yeah it is a shame that he ended up singing in bingo halls,but i would say the audience got good value for their money having Emile singing for them,have a nice evening and thanks for your comment. Now here's a story, when I was young and loving this Version, my Parents who were young in the very early 1900s told me that they new the song with a different beat, more like a ballad! Proud moments for you to see your Dad (Les Harff) wonderful..... ejl
