What should be noted in this video is that this is a perspective of the homemaker's life in the 30's rather than the 50's model we are most accustomed to seeing in pop culture. Due to economic hardship and a relatively more liberal society (than the post WWII years), women were definitely a more common presence in the workforce, even if they weren't in management. I believe this film was trying to reassert the value of the full-time housewife in an era where it may have seemed frivolous.

My, how society has advanced itself via liberalism - feminism. Just look at all the endless divorces, for that matter lack of marriage, anything goes attitude, how women no longer hold reign - power, respect, authority. How grand. They asked to be something they inherently are not and they got what they stupidly wanted and so in turn society has gone down the shitter. Today's woman is a disgrace to her heretofore self.

REMEMBER PEOPLE THIS IS THE 1930'S NOT TODAY, MOST WOMEN DON'T KNOW THESE THINGS AND BRAINS IS WHAT COUNTS, NOT HAPPY HOMEMAKER! Anything can go wrong and once with out education or too long out of the working world, is hard to go back when you have too, for example, if your husband dies or cheats on you, or beats you, how are you going to protect your children and self? these things weren't heard of back then! All girls need a brain and a job, its great to be home when you have little ones!

lol "she must face death - to bring children into the world" OMG...wow, forgot how many woman died in child birth!!!

@SportsBlogsAU Agreed. I love the old fashioned chivalry. But the days of guys helping to lift a heavy package, or figuring out what went on the fritz with the electricity seem to be gone.
How wonderful. If women were still like that, maybe I would have some respect for them instead of using them for sex.

Some of the feminazis are giving feminism a bad name. People seem to have different ideas about what it all means. For me, a woman CAN be a feminist, a mother and a doting wife all at the same time.
It's about having a CHOICE and that is up to the woman to decide on which path she'll take. I think women want the same options as men even though she may decide to take a traditional path.
I respect the woman who makes her own choices...and doesn't let society, men OR OTHER WOMEN decide for her.
