"ICT: Educating Youth for the Future" (Arabic)

This PSA, created by Reem N Bsaiso and Salma Zubi of World-Links Arab Region, aims to convince education ministers and policymakers to invest in teaching ICT and skills of the future to Jordanian youth in primary and secondary schools. The footage for the PSA was gathered in a classroom and at a technology conference where World Links was recognized for designing and producing a leading robotic invention. The message in simple text says, "Teach Youth How to Use Technology and They Can Solve the Problems of the Future." URL: www.wlar.org

Background:
This PSA was produced locally in Amman, Jordan as part of a media workshop, entitled "Media, Activism and Democracy," led by Barefoot Workshops in partnership with The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). twenty-six participants, mostly women and youth, learned how to write, shoot, produce and edit, thirty-second noncommercial videos (Public Service Announcements), to raise awareness about social issues. The goal of the workshops was to increase discussion, debate and civic participation in the Middle East. The PSAs are available in Arabic and English to broadcasters and other organizations that wish to distribute them "rights-free" on television and the Internet.
