Hard Sun (Original by Indio AKA Gordon Peterson)

When I heard that Eddy Vedder had remade this Canadian Classic by Gordon Peterson,(for the new film "Into the Wild") I was thrilled to see this cool song get some more much deserved public attentio...

Well, thank you! Cryosurgeon claims to so much education and then pretends he doesn't know what the New Age movement is. I say he is afflicted by mystical New Age beliefs and that is why he trotted out a paean to the Sun and claimed it had power over women's menstruations. This is false, there IS no unusual, no supernatural, no God, spirits or souls. Buy into that, you lose your money, where "money" can be time, expense, worry, attention, all things best spent on the real.

It's odd how some educated people are able to believe so much of the unsubstantiated stuff they hear. What's the point in having a brain capable of rational thought and self awareness, if, in the end, you fill it with garbage and don't use it to actually think?

I have many friends that are very religious and/or have new age beliefs. Somehow these otherwise bright people have beliefs based on nothing other that what they have heard, and it's all easily refuted by simple logic. How?

Why don't you quit stalling and ANSWER questions put to you? Why were you unable to quote anything that mentions the Sun and menstruation in the same quote? Could it be simply a New Age belief on your part, and not real science?

I don't have any proof you HAVE a medical degree. Like the other guy remarked, there's a difference between writing naturally and reaching for the thesaurus all the time. Why don't you explain clearly why you think there is a connection between the Sun and women's menstruations, and answer the OTHER questions put to you so far?

You refuse to be clear as to just what this mystical connection is between the Sun and menstruation. Surely you can break it down and explain it, if there is any truth to it at all? We have all learned about X-rays, quantum physics, and other initially invisible things, so why don't you even TRY to explain what you mean? I'll put my real education against your fake one any time.

What a crazy discussion to have while listening to this great song.

I hope everyone here realises that even though we all have our differences, we also all love some of the same things.

I hadn't seen any of the arguments below. That's a lengthy discussion. I don't like to see swear words. Too disturbing and impolite. Science isn't everything by the way. I'm not a Rationalist. I'm an Irrationalist! Divinity and the Sun come from that side I believe.

Seriously. What are people commenting on this debate here reading?

Dracopol never used profanity and cryosurgeon did far more name calling.

Dracopol was more patient that many people would be when faced with no substantive response to all their questions, just insults.

Kudos to Dracopol. Whether he returns or not, he's the winner, and more importantly, the classier of the two.

Cheers

Maybe it's Dracopol's starting point of rationality and skepticism that makes his side of the argument more persuasive to me.

I don't like it when cryosurgeon doesn't answer simple direct questions and thinks that the sheer volume and length of his words will win the day. I'm not wowed by big words or long paragraphs, just the substance of the words.

Read it over again and see how few questions cryosurgeon answers, how much it takes to drag them out of him, and how evasive they are.

Cryosurgeon was definitely the winner. My sis is an obstetrician/gynecologist. Sis and I have read the entire "debate" and we both agree that Cryosurgeon is:
1) Far more intelligent than the Dracopol
2) Far better educated than the Dracopol
Dracopol has attempted to put words in other people's mouths that have never been stated. Furthermore, Dracopol is uncivilized and resorted to profanity; unacceptable behavior & what you'd expect from Dracopol who probably hasn't finished High School.
