I heard this song on my car radio one time, 30 years ago, and never heard it again. But I never forgot it, either. Something about the simple recurring melody, I loved it. Flash forward to 2009...it was easy to search the title & arrive at this place. This is the song alright. Love it. It's Ric Ocasek on vocals I guess, but he sounds like Mark Mothersbaugh here and the whole song sounds like something Devo might have done. Great song with a strangely mesmerizing quality to it.
