Sharing the Light is an Internet talk show where Reverends Durrell Watkins and Robert Griffin discuss theological questions of interest to our community.
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
"I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!"(John 8:58)
I included that latter passage, because the concept of Jesus' lordship is obviously tied closely to whether he is God... and the Jews clearly understood him to be saying that as they tried to stone him for blasphemy.
Sry late reply Dragoon... you say everywhere, but don´t find one single line in the gospels. The books u refear too are not Jesus sayings nor taken from the gospels. To repent your sins? John the baptist said that also, but that doesn´t mean we have to believe in John as the LORD. My question still applies WHERE IN THE GOSPELS DOES JESUS REQUIRE US TO ACCEPT HIM AS LORD?
If you'd like specific passages, two that come to mind are;
- "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved- you and your household." (Acts 16:3)
- "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that Gods raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
There is something phony about this guy! Trust me! Something is off... He is still trying to figure out things for himself. Spiritual seekers beware.

Quiet. These are good people. Christianity needs a progressive revolution just like Judaism had.

Hi Pjotrll,
Some sample passages would be;
"I am the light of the world.

That's rather a strange question, because my general answer would be "everywhere!"
If you boiled down the central gospel message, it could be;
1) repent of your sins
2) turn back to God through His Son Jesus the Christ (by accepting Him as Lord)
3) allow the Spirit to make you more like Christ
