  • We have spoken to Mark and he has confirmed that the earth tag can be either inside or outside the enclosure - there is no preference made by the IEE.

Mark's personal take is putting it on the outside so it is easier to visually inspect. As Mark is a lecturer, we can assure you that he is not an 'amateur with no experience or electrical competency'.

The 'cosmic' appearance was meant to be cosmetic appearance - oops, slip of the tongue.

Thanks for all of your comments so far....

  • @88Ghillie yeah but the strands inside the cable need earthed as well.. just like swa gland

  • The flex looks as though it already has an earth in it?

  • @chiefbag ---- The 'Earth tag' is also known as a 'Banjo' in the trade. ;)

  • 0.59.........Cosmic apperance? haha far out man!

  • The "Earth Tag" as you call it should be located inside the enclosure you are terminating the cable to.... Am I wrong or Am I right.

Amateurs with no experience or electrical competency.

  • Never mind the "R" or lack there of. For any person or electrician that may be watching this, the obvious solution for cutting the braid is to pull it down toward you and therefore not risk cutting the inner rubber. Again do the same for splaying except use a small flat screwdriver.

  • The stress of AM2 LOL.

  • this is really good for anyone about to do the am2 and has not done much sy

  • I have found that if you push the brade from the top. To form a bulb at the start of the outer insulation. This helps to prevent scoring the inner isulation.
