Classic Game Room educational film: HOW TO CLEAN GAME CARTRIDGES! This CGR special shows you how to clean videogame cartridges using a Q-tip (not the rapper) and isopropyl alchol. Collecting for N64, Atari 2600, Colecovision, NES, SNES, Genesis or any other cartridge based video game console? Then odds are you'll run into some dirty game carts that need a simple cleaning before they work. If you buy used video game cartirdges you'll frequently find some that don't work when you power up the game system. A simple cleaning will fix the videogame cartridge 99% of the time because the contacts become dirty over time. Sometimes they become flat our disgusting and filthy. Clean your game cartridges with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab and never let grime in the way of your gaming again!

  • Kony 2012

  • the more you know!

  • I do this all the time, especially with any NES game get. If there's any trace of dirt it seems to ruin the whole connector and I'd have to replace it. Such a finicky console.

  • The music here is quite fitting and kind of funny too ;0

  • I've been doing this for years, works Like a charm

  • @Gmod1001 true

  • @MetalFanx2000 Yeah...its called a floppy, and rather than trying to improve them and increase opted for straight out discs....only problem with floppies is if you put a magnet near it :|

  • @dijonhalo Besides being extremely ineffective, blowing produces moisture inside the cartridge which could cause it to rust, its a extremely bad idea to blow into your game cartridge, even if it has worked all this time, its not guaranteed to keep it working. Cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol is safe and effective.

  • @musicfanatic23 thats the point! people like wall street assholes realized if they used discs that would break within a year or 2 years if lucky they would earn more money!

  • 23 people are handicaped
