Team 39, the Zip Ties, Explains the capabilities of their robot for the Build Award of the 2009 VEX World Championship... too bad fear of swine flu kept them home =(

Additional Notes:

The drive base features 1:1 chain drive, due to chain's increased efficiency over gears

The manipulator is made from the vex aluminum to reduce weight

  • did you program your motors to stop the lifting system mid air?

    how?

    is it easy?

  • all robot movement shown in this video is done during an operator control mode (to bypass the autonomous for testing, stuck an orange jumper in interrupt 6); all i did was hit the button to make it move, and release to stop it... i myself am not entirely sure as to the programing but it shouldn't be to hard.

  • Nicely done guys. Good luck!!!!

  • conveyor belts are slightly more effective, but we decided on the intake rollers because of their lesser masses and smaller size

  • i just got back from an open house from your school i cant wait to join the robitics team

  • intake is slow, but great design. i would have recommended making the drive a little faster as well.

  • great design

  • Nice robot, innovative lift idea!
