  • Google is awesome (except for the fact they have ruined youtube and keep ruining it further). I thought Sky would be a cool name for a band so i looked it up to see if there was one and when I heard John Williams was in the band I had to check it out. I'm glad I did because this is bloody brilliant.

  • Andrew Latimer must have written 'sasquatch' after listening to 'cannonball'.

  • @Blackrockfruit The long track on side 2 is fantastic, agree with you there. Those first two Sky albums are absolutely awesome. I saw them live in the late 80's, without Williams or Monkman sadly. They were still great though.

  • yea, got sky2 on vinyl and transfeered to cd

  • I have this 1st SKY album on vinyl - had it new in about 1981. Cool track. The entire other side of the Album is even better - a single piece (albeit in 5 movements) also by Monkman. Regarding the 'feel' of the live version: The Keyboard player and composer of this track, Francis Monkman, had been involved with the 'Prog Rock' band Curved Air a few years before; prog rock fans, apparently, tended not to jump up and down at concerts, but to take it all really seriously and sit down.

  • strangely compelling, yes I concur, but have you seen live version of this track,?? and what a sad bunch of men these are!, they sit down whilst playing guitar, and the drummer and keyboard player !!! the audience look very bored at the end

  • Outstanding! Every couple of years I come back to play this album again, and it still astounds me!

  • this masterpeice of music is awesome composed by john williams thanks very much to youtube for helping me locate it , it gets no radio air play anymore , peter

  • I saw them live in 79 awesome and still have all their records I too love my vinyl
