  • I'm attending CDL-A school here in New England. My road test is not for a couple weeks. I know you from watching tv and movies. Did you retire from acting? You're the first actor who obtained a cdl-a. Good job!

  • @tfraud good luck on your road test (&pre-trip inspection and backing) I did not retire from acting- but am trying to squeeze both in at the same time and started a little trucking company with two friends up in Oregon). Before the road test the state tester told me to just breathe!

  • Truck Driving School, HMMMMM ! I started driving in 1979. My instructor was the owner of the truck, a 1978 ,359 PETE. I was fresh out of the Army with NO experience other than a 10 ton tractor, military issue, with a 6x4 transmission. He took me around town for about 2 hours, went back to the terminal, told me to take the truck on my own for an hour, and come back to the yard. When i returned, he looked the truck over, hooked up to a trailer, and off i went on my own. SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS.

  • @firesnuffer0 I have heard a few of these stories and they fill me with fear and reverential awe- probably took a few miles of a little grinding and a couple of close off tracking calls and you were all set- you were born for it!

  • Thank's for the info allready...I'm starting Truck Driving School this Spring in Northern Ca.

Is it true that you can work 3 weeks on and get 1 week off, if you're long haul?

  • @DeanMartin1231 usually not that sweet a deal- about half of that (or a day for each week you were out) companies won't let trucks sit that long w/out working (unless you plan on being owner/operator)

  • @egsupertrucker thanks supertrucker- if there's only one trait I am proud of- it is not feigning expertise in front of people who know what you can do thirteen seconds after doing it- I have a ton of respect for the men and women who make their living over the road. Everyone's gotta start somewhere somehow and there's never shame in starting- just not trying.

  • @TheTrkrsvoice hey truckersvoice- god bless all of you out there doing the necessary, difficult and dangerous work- keep on trucking

  • Great music awesome decision to go trucking it is the backbone of america that's the same decision I made and man and I glad I did. Find out how at TruckLicense . Net

  • @bigsissypunk What a jerk you are! You're probably the type that was just looking for a reaction anyway, but just to correct you, Donal not only DRIVES trucks, he also OWNS trucks! Who do you drive for? I have a few guesses.....I'd be cranky too

  • @donallogue11 thanks

  • @donallogue11 Yeah, it was definitely an experience. My first 4 years were hauling cattle, and the first load went from the King Ranch in Texas, to Liberal Kansas. Got lost 4 times, and nearly topped a low bridge. Got stopped just in time, and had to back up about 3/4 of a mile. Boy Howdy was that ever fun. Took me every bit of a month to get use to everything, but after a while it was like riding a bike. Hauling heavy equipment in the oil fields in Texas now. Home every night.

  • P.S. I'm still driving today.
