October 18, 2009 ~ Matthew 6:25-34

Matthew 6:25-34
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.


When I Start To Stress Out And Worry


1. I Can Focus My Mind Back On God.

People who dont know God and the way He works worry over these things Mathew 6:32a (MSG)

Jesus said, Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. John 14:1 (NASB)




Brothers and sistersfix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

2. I Can Keep God First In Every Area Of My Life.

So dont worryyour heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT)

Where Does God Want First Place In My Life?
•Finances (Deuteronomy 14:23)
•Interest (1 Corinthians 10:31)
•Relationships (2 Corinthians 6:14)
•Schedule (Psalm 90:10)
•Troubles (Psalm 50:15)

3. I Can Live Each Day As It Comes.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and dont get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. Matthew 6:34 (MSG)

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13 (NIV)




4. I Can Trust God To Care For All My Needs.

Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience Gods peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
