"If you put a label on genetically engineered food you might as well put a skull and crossbones on it." - Norman Braksick, president of Asgrow Seed Co., a subsidiary of Monsanto, quoted in the Kansas City Star, March 7, 1994

Monsanto and Food Inc.'s stranglehold over the nation's food and farming system is about to be challenged in a food fight that will largely determine the future of American agriculture.

A growing corps of organic food and health activists in California—supported by consumers and farmers across the nation—are boldly standing up to Monsanto and its minions, taking the first steps to expose the widespread contamination of non-organic grocery store foods with Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), and moving to implement mandatory GMO labeling through a grassroots-powered Citizens Ballot Initiative process.

Dr. Mercola Recommends...
Every "Like" Helps Support This CauseThis week, lawyers representing a broad and unprecedented health, environmental, and consumer coalition, including the Organic Consumers Association, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap, Center for Food Safety, Mercola.com, Nature's Path, Natural News.com, LabelGMOs.org, Food Democracy Now, and the Institute for Responsible Technology, filed papers with the California Attorney General's office to place a Citizens Initiative on the Ballot in November, 2012 that would require mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods and food ingredients.

If California voters pass this ballot initiative in 2012, it will likely be the beginning of the end for Monsanto and genetically engineered food in the U.S. According to Zuri Starr, a Southern California field organizer for the Organic Consumers Association:

"The California Ballot Initiative is perhaps our last chance to stop the Biotech Express, to overthrow Biotechnology's dictatorial regime and build a safe and sustainable food and farming system based upon the ethical principles of consumer choice and BioDemocracy."

LabelGMOs (dot) org if you want to find out more. We expect a legal batte as well. Tell people to not believe the lies that will be in the media. Actual people will be available to talk to voters. The science is self-explanitory. Go to the website and you will be referred to local volunteers. Be healthy, give your children the chance to have children of their own. Ever wonder why so many people have to go to fertility clinics? 15 years of GMO's.

GMO has "agrobacteria" gene inserted into it. People are developing allergies to the foods with this "non-food" in it. Not only is it raising the rate of cancers to one in two people it is leaving our immune system broken and having allergic responses to the base food. We are left unable to eat the healthy form of the food. The best way to fight for your food supply is to buy Organic as often as you can. Organic beans is far healthier than GMO of any other "food". Put seeds in your ground, eat.

And California bends over, just like with prop 19. This used to be my hero State. Now, it's become a 'Slave State'.

Dude, you're way too paranoid, those other accounts harrassing you were not me. They were your genuine enemies, no different from the genuine enemies you made in this video when arguing your points immaturely. You owe me a publicly apology at Wu's and the longer you wait, the longer you risk my ordinance of knowledge being released like the Kraken. Remember about your friend's wife with her two girls? Do they need to be aware of keeping their soles hidden when around you and your pocket cameras?

That may be an argument, but the better argument is that the mandatory label will be perceived as a warning label to consumers. It's nothing more than to foster doubt with consumers.

If or when there is credible, scientific evidence that GMOs are dangerous, then a label may be warranted (of course, if it were dangerous, it wouldn't be allowed to be sold in the first place).

Yes, some GMOs do contain genes that, when expressed, could produce a potential allergy. However, this would be tested and noted as a warning if it passes all other safety requirements (much like foods containing nuts would have a nut allergy warning).

I'd rather not buy organic. I'm not going to pay $5 extra for a label. It's not healthier for you than conventional foods or GMO foods, so you're just paying the extra cost to feel good.

theyre gonna put out propaganda saying that labeling gmo will drive up food prices and that it will hurt the taxpayers. the tobacco companies already fooled california voters about prop 29 saying the money would not go to cancer research and cost taxpayers money.
