Niedermayer - Crosby Skating Styles

Two great players with different skating styles are provided for players and coaches to learn from. The fluid stride of Niedermayer is demonstrated by Female Olympian Danielle Goyette and a highlight of Sydney Crosby shows the wide powerful accelerating skating style of Sydney Crosby. 2 up and coming young players imitate each stride. Coaches are encouraged to send their players on 2 technical laps between drills imitating these styles. Both are worth practicing to develop a more powerful and efficient skating stride.

I am looking into this now. I am more of a Crosby stride, high bite. Weight transfer is king I think, getting into the power zone faster and cycling that for acceleration.

Some of the latest number draft pics do not use toe starts, the heel click, or the arm swing! Just look at hall, stamkos, crosby, taveres. Check out victory on ice, that is how you are supposed to skate!
