Final vid of this machine for the moment.
Here the machine had reached effectively rinse hold. The long spin/short spin button is switched across to long spin, to reactivate the machine, then switched back to regain the short spin setting.

This is the setting for people adding fabric conditioner. However the machine does not drain, before the pause in the programme, thus you cant add fabric softener at this stage.

The machine then runs through to the end of the programme. Only then can you add fabric coditioner, before resetting the machine to a suitable programme and letting it rinse and spin again.

Remember - this is the basic machine in the model lineup!

The higher end model A3E02, did this process automatically, having a seperate powder drawer equipped with a fabric conditioner part as standard. You wanted that feature - you paid a bit more.

One thing to note is the speed of distribution - within a couple of seconds, pretty much everything is fastened to the sides of the drum, with no faffing about.

  • An interesting piece of Hoover history, solid machines built to last!

  • Yep - one of the slightly more unusual pieces of Hoover history and electricity board history too.

  • So do I!

Will let you know if one turns up.

  • They were great ,bring back a lot of memories. Hope youcan get one soon pal. :)

  • fraid not. dont have one in the collection just yet.

  • Do u have any vids of the creda debonair micron or even the electra version? U know the one with the electronic time display from the mid to late 80's.

  • Its not that they copy machines, but that the electricity board commisioned certain manufactureres to produce electra branded versions of their machines. As you say, there are Creda machines branded electra, as well as Philips and in recent years servis machines. There were also Zanussi exclusives for the leccy boards, but these retained the Zanussi name but were in to tone brown.

  • Electra just do cheap copy's of big brand machne's like hoover and creda. Do u remember the creda debonair micron and when electra did a version of it?

  • nope. the A3E02 did 800 only too. different spin speeds only came in with the introduction of the electronic machines - the A3060 1100rpm machine and its electricity board exclusive spin off in the form of the A3E08

  • Oh so the next model up did that style spin then??
