wow, this hospital came a long way. we built the hospital up in salerno from nothing in 2004 and 2005. all we had were tents and some plywood. it's amazing how far it came. good to see this. memories. i'll never forget salerno.
Giving credit when credit is due. Most of the care and therapy for the burned woman and the injured girl featured was provided by the Soldiers and Airmen under the command of the 349th CSH. The "Shamrock" term for trauma calls was started by the 48th CSH and the black Shamrock/Crossbones barrier marking was started by the NCOs of the 349th CSH.
I was in Salerno from 2006 to 2007 under 3rd Brigade, 10th MTN. I took an EMT class while I was there, and helped in the hospital for mass casualties. I'm very happy to see it's not a tent anymore. Wonderful video, I'll look forward to more.

The woman holding the kid was in the Marine Corps. with me. Her husband is in Iraq for 6 months and she is in Afganstan for a year. They have 3 kids.
