@bfoaliali thanks for sharing this... the suffering of another comes across more stirringly when genuine. And it shines to the heart of what this man is about :)

@jjbarbados europe is not good place for an investor and europeans aren't the hardest working people?
have you anything to back up that claim? ofcourse not. check out forbes and oecd and check out who are working the hardest. because you obviously haven't...
"western europeans think they're chosen race" wtf does that even mean? shows how much you've traveled...

@firefox8192 why should there be. modern republic in itself refers to a representative democracy
coined by james madison.
the democracy you're thinking is called direct democracy...

I doesn't take C to say that Europe could act differently in averting the world nuclear/economic crisis. Unfortunately, all that is said in the video is of a hypothetic role of Europe in the present world crisis where in fact it is taking an ever more violent and oppressive approach to crises always from the american blue print - see Lybia where EU is playing imperialist war games. Everybody, including EU, has a stake in the current crisis - make no mistake: there are no good guys in this mess.

I believe his wife died in 2008, thus during that year, and little bit before and after, he always looks tired, and sad.

Can anyone find the word Democracy in the Constitution of The United States Republic, Bill of Right , Declaration of Independence?

Chom is right, and people in Europe - the common folks, is already of the same oppinion and would take the choice. The problem as always is that the various governments that represents the nations only ever agree on one point, and that is the interest in economically beneficial choices rather than idealistic ones, since they more often than not equals loss of money. And the public is in ways the same, bickering over domestic issues and missing the big picture. Private finances always comes first

@jjbarbados You're a moron, mate. The EU is the world's first industrial economy, recovers with the same rate as e.g. the US's. Its economic strenghth lies in Western Europe, not Eastern, where people are as productive as e.g. the US but with 30+ holidays a year, "Daddy State paying it all" (what you forgot to say it that "Daddy State" pays to people cause they themselves pay into "Daddy State" (taxes)) and a strong currency. Must come as a shock to 19th century economic dogmas.

Europe is expensive and europeans are not the hardest working people in the world, so England, France and Europe is not a good place for investors. Devalue the over-rated Euro and create jobs, it`s all invented , it will attract investors, not Daddy State pay it all like today, unless western europeans still think they are `chosen race` and put the hard work and low currencies to the back of Eastern Europeans, its the 21th century guys.

This was indeed an interview, Mr. Chomsky answered very specific questions by Jan Tamas. I did the video, so I know. It was a 60 min. q&a and It's mind-blowing how much information can fit into 5 min. when the vision/message is clear.
When Chomsky speaks, I'd much rather be hearing him than an interviewer. In fact it would be a complete waste of time to have an interviewer say more than a few sentences in a Chomsky interview. Give Chomsky a topic of discussion, and then shut the hell up and let him educate you.
