it happens to be my tourgide in monument valley and he is navajo and he played an indian in a movie with John Wayne. nothing big of course but i dont think u can call this guy a fake navajo, he's not.
of course they earn money from tourism. it's a good chance to get some money. it's because of all the american influence that they don't life the way they did 100 years ago.

most of them in shiprock dress like that only because the hats are good shade. the shirts are long sleeve to protect from the sun but they are thin so they don't get hot when they work or go outside.

I like the song, the singers are real and not all prep. the song reminds, me of being on the rez. we should not criticize the singers but remind ourselves can we compose a song and have the guts to sing it. this is a chance for the others to view a dine song regardless of their appearance. i love my dine people. woowhoo

thanks for your nice comment. This people are my friends, I visit them every year, they struggle for a living in the reservation, they drive pick ups for the tourist and sing for them and I try to help them out any way I can. They are very good people and good artists to.
