Here, I review The Hold Steady's fifth album, "Heaven Is Whenever". Released on Vagrant in 2010.

On Heaven Is Whenever, The Hold Steady have lost keyboardist Franz Nicolay, which has both negative and positive effects, and....ahhh watch the review I don't feel like typing this.

Overall: 6.5/10

  • hmm, I never took the time to check out The Hold Steady, who would you compare them too?

  • @misternarrator Well I've never heard anything similar to Craig Finn's vocals, but the music is based in pure classic rock. Think Springsteen and the like.

  • @HiQKid2 you referring to his appearance on P.O.S.'s Audition? :p

  • Craig's stated that he's taken a lot of inspiration lyrically from rappers, so your note on that makes sense. He actually did backup vocals on a rap track at one point.

Anyhow, cool vid - an interesting take on things and entertaining to watch.

  • dude you are a great album reviewer!

    great vid!
