Inspired in part by my brother's complaints about this particular PseudoZombi, and the wonderful Marvel publication Tales of the Zombie I took to drawing a picture to captivate the essence of this PseudoZombi.

But, I figured this could make a dramatic and dire storyline, so I should narrate a video in a faux creepy voice to drive the point home. If you couldn't tell, this is not serious fiction. Ha ha ha :).

The PseudoZombi appears in Mother on the "Regular Nintendo," NES or Famicom as it were. The english version, Earthbound Zero, is unreleased. You'll have to search for a dump of the proto (or the prototype if you have money to burn) and I cannot help you with that.

I'm sorry the quality is not the greatest, but this is the best I can upload without a lot of issues. But, enjoy :).

  • LOLOLOL, high drama mate. That's awesome ;) I only regret that we didn't hear from even more of those milksop townsfolk of Podunk ;) I take it that this flagrant use of 2nd-person narration is inspired by the style of the comic? I've never had the good fortune to read it :) Speaking of comic art, love the hand-drawn bit and accompanying... noise... LOL. The ending is pretty well done too. Last but not least I appreciate my audio cameo... good to see an old snippet finally put to use! :) - w.u.

  • Yeah I never thought of getting some screen caps of peasants post Podunk or even getting more than I did. My only real regret is that the video and stills were not 1:1, I would have liked a smooth transition.

The sketch was actually the catalyst for making the vid.

A Fate Most Dire worked well I think. A short loop of the right mood. Just me talking would have been a bit flat, so it was good in the background to add some depth. This is "A Remix Most Dire" but there is no dif anyways :P.

  • My other response might not have shown up, I'll remove it if it does.

But yeah, the narration style is from the Tales of the Zombie mag. The Zombie has his own special text blocks that narrate directly to him. It was a really interesting way to convey a story.

  • ZAAAWMBIE

    epic

  • Not the smoothest sound effect on the throat. ;) This stuff's hard enough to say without laughing let alone keeping my composure after screaming.

  • Oh, so you went ahead and bought TotZ? Cool.

I especially like the choice of background music and the picture you drew with the accompanying scream of "zombie," though the rest of the narration was done well, too.
