"Too Young," written by Sidney Lippman and Sylvia Dee in 1951 and recorded that same year by Nat King Cole on Capitol Records was a million-selling record and reached the #1 position on the Billboard magazine chart, staying there for 5 weeks. It was first included on the 10 inch Capitol LP, Unforgetable, released in 1953 and is currently available on the Unforgetable CD. It remains one of the favorite songs of my early childhood.

When we married in 1953, at the age of 21, our parents thought that we were too young to get married. We'll be celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary on the 26th of Dec. this year. I plan to have this song played by the band at the end of my speech. Hilton

To all you Arizona State Sun Devils fans and Kansas City Chiefs fans out there: This was the #1 song in the USA when Woody Green came into the world (June 20, 1951).

I was in grade school when this one was popular. One of my classmates (Charles Harkness
) used to go around singing it.....young as he was!

When my great-grandmother heard news of her son's engagement at nineteen, she whacked him on the forehead with a rolled-up newspaper. To spite all their non-believers, my grandparents danced to this as their first dance during the wedding reception.
They played it again at their 50th anniversary party. The hundreds of friends and extended family (not to mention three kids and twelve healthy, beautiful grandkids) definitely appreciated the irony.
