Thanks for sharing : ) Very useful- especially the query part in MS Access...
Could the issues with the strange level numbers be due to the project base point being a little off from the base level?

Great video - working on similar database modification, although having a problem. What I want to do is modify Room Finish information the same way (export DB, export to excel, link excel back in, create update query). My problem is the information I want to update is not the same value for each cell and Access is changing all the cell values for a column (text based) to be all the same. Information I'm updating is (room use - ie. office, circulation....) Any Ideas would be great - Thanks

@cwischow, make sure the parameters you are updating are shared and that they are associated with the proper category (see around 0:30 in the video.

Hey great video thanks!
I was curious what happens when you delete something from the access end? Does revit die or anything? I am very curous if you can delete materials through this method. If you can look into that it would be very appreciated.

@pteachen32, can delete materials using this method, as long as they are not currently assigned to any elements in the model

What are the steps prior to exporting the file from revit. Is a database set up in MS Access first. If so how was this done.

@mengelmn
You do not need to set up the database first. If you select Revit DB Link (MS Access Tab) > Select a New Connection. This will prompt you to create a new Access database and will then export your project and create the bi-directional link.
