@RoxasGF Catherine's role was not necessary little. In fact, her character, Velma Kelly, was one of the pivotal characters of Chicago. The movie revolves around Catherine and Renee. Though Catherine didn't have much screen time than Renee, her character was so significant for the movie. And I personally think, we all like her because we didn't see much of her in this movie than Renee and probably we were bored seeing Renee most of the time in this movie.

Catherine Zeta Jones is the perfect Velma Kelly! I guess no one could've pulled off such a complex role with aplomb like she did.

@Selenator87 yeah, i agree with u! she looked really amazing showing an aggressive side of her to the cops when they come to arrest her. I loved the look she gave to the cops! Just amazing!!!

@TheWayYouLeftMe I'd hardly call it a "little role" but I think the main reason for it is that Catherine's personality much better suits that of Veronica, whereas Renée's personality better suits the slightly more innocent Roxie.
I dunno, I'm just guessing. But you're right, Catherine is amazing in this film (and I prefer her too!)

greatest song ever and all that jazz!

LOVE Velma's look at 4:41 when she saw she was going to be arrested. She is like "Ok, do it. But you are not going to ruin that final moment of mine".
What a look and rendition from Catherine Zeta-Jones. For me just THE MOMENT of the films of 2002

@heathledgerish Me too! I really don't like her, and her voice is not good, especially in that part, which I just got to - it's hideous.

she can act
she can sing
she can dance
she is gorgeous...
my god!

i agree, though i do love renee zelweger (sorry if i've spelt her name wrong) it's annoying watching her, a skinny not really good singer woman, play the main character whilst catherine zeta jones, a curvy beautiful voiced woman, plays a little role.
