In an attempt to test the strength of our motor's ejection charge, we came across some extremely unexpected results. Aside from melting our aluminum blast plate, we also managed to shoot our nose cone nearly 15 feet into the air.

then the heat of the flame could be well above 700 celsius..........and for a start plate i suggest a steel sheet 2mm thick

It was just sheet aluminum from the hardware store. Nothing too serious but we were not expecting it to do that at all.
