Right after work, I heard Thomas P. Conroy share his thoughts on the American dream.

I met small business owners all over this state. and just by way of example Tony in Dedham small retailer independent shop owner he pays his taxes good few abides by the law Tony's really cause hears sees all stories big that aren't taxes exporting overseas and they don't local communities folks we're better than that. people Americans. now, I also heard people with a sense of lost hope because feel as people now taxes jobs better than that lost hope is broken faith and freedom stems from our democracy through our capitalism that allows these creative tension between new and better all the time in our society. and a faith that if you study hard in school work hard abide by law to succeed in this society some way, but that I will say in some shape form a product American dream my folks got early right away was in graduate school have a lot of money was working shifts at his job program working twenty hours straight one instance I got so sick during that time my mother didn't have a quarter to buy a subway token to take I eat malnourished she to do had a friend come seen in three months now my dad from Vietnam household of five boys bouncing off the walls no job no income very rough they did not have it all figured out at that but hard work and diligence some smarts little local people and bank he succeeded eventually and he out dream my folks opportunity have great bring good values and so today I stand here a legitimate think viable best a United country. That is all about people down Washington Tea Party SOB want to take away from us tear us apart as a society. They want to denigrate our democratic willing and shrink so that noone seems out get help some some kind of lending hand to create an opportunity and allow grab hard work dedication pull folks we're better than that the negativism cynicism anger fear kind stoking American society I have great faith and confidence that we as a nation those two pillars capitalism which have continuously and overcome adversity and obstacles throughout our that will carry the day in when state met hundreds people that have ingenuity and creativity and good will and goodness kindness our brothers sisters that there is better saw that resilience sorts all examples. Fitchburg there's a manufacturing plant out there ship jobs the city CEO got together and they created costs half two hundred in out Western Massachusetts close paper mill in the Berkshires and instead wait a hundred and twenty jobs at stake risk local bank they did bought it plant open new employees I was in Roxbury there is helping sixteen men apprenticeships skills rebuilding homes commercial enterprises have path gangs drugs path decent middle benefits there are dozens stories success all just give me hope faith there still spark this society we need want to carry voices stories down sure can push forward kind ideas kind ingenuity character that for everyone disadvantaged between have crisis to rebuild folks how do we do infrastructure crisis that saw simple rebuild roads jobs program it does chunk putting carpenters electricians good solid kind people back big supporter Buffett rule because to pay pull in some form Iraq Afghanistan to do security because my wife because military budget national Barbara Mikulski know how to analyze those help military countries America can businesses loan program offering tax credits for big oil not needs help jobs offering small jobs right here Wayland Roxbury all Massachusetts start rewarding good guys good bad now we all know facing are economic global economic situation here other countries manufacturing wealth are complex Spain Portugal countries default something faster everyday jobs crisis have two wars overseas and focus not Congress doing
