what size is that cast net?
-
@stripers182 yea my fault the first fish looked like one while I was reading

I @TurboGSR96 I think you need to take another look. We didn't catch a single Striper in this video? I only lip gaff blues. We net or just grab stripers. I do NOT gaff stripers. In fact in the south it is illegal.

Great video. I noticed you use 5/8 mesh in the salt. Do you think 3/4 is too big for Menhaden? I've been tossing the 5/8 great but want something a bit larger to sink quicker. Just want to make sure it isn't too large. I'm sure it will be fine but wanted your input.
Great video Cap!!

@Jayhova16 GREAT EYE! Yes< that net is a 5/8" a 3/4" is also great. I use both< but when they are schooled up tight, the 5/8" net does not want to rip while pulling up BIG loads of bait._ Thanks, Mike

Why do you guys gaff everything? Why don't you get a boga grip or something.

When you fish for almost 40 days straight, getting down on your knees to wrestle a thrashing chainsaw into a Boga Grip is just not sensible. Especially on 50-100 fish days. A lip gaff is by far the easiest, and in my opinion the fastest and least stressfull on you and the fish. . I have had my share stitches from getting too close to a thrashing Blue fish. Boga Grips are really only good for holding a fish for a picture, and a net is out of the question. Just 1 Bluefish will shred a net.
