Blender Female Update 07-15-08 Expressions

Fixed the smile... almost there... also added some armature tweeks so that the top eyelid will stay with the eye when shes looking down automatically.

How long does it take to create something like this? I'm a beginner and started learning Blender a few weeks ago and I wonder how difficult it is to make something like this when for me, doing something as simple as a wooden cabin (with full interior) or a bee (heh) takes countless hours. Especially if you're doing detailed textures.

Is scripts & scripting the secret? I haven't yet gotten myself familiar with it. The language seems quite simple in Blender though, so that's good.

@Samoutuomas Well the human figure is one of the most difficult things to model. I learned this the hard way, so if you are starting and want to model a human from scratch..... its going to take a while. But there are premade models you can start from and download which will cut your time drastically. There are model "repositories" you can use to your benefit. Its impossible for someone to take the time to model EVERYTHING in a complex scene.

About the scripting aspect in Blender; how important is it in effective modeling? Should I already learn it (especially since the language doesn't seem too difficult and I have some experience in other languages) this early, or is it only useful when I have become more advanced etc.?

@Samoutuomas Scripts are not usually needed. Blender is always evolving to make things easier thanks to a great community. And odds are that whatever issue you are having, someone out there in the community has solved it and will tell you what to do. Scripting is heavily used in the game engine of the program, but not in modeling.

@soldieroscar I'm a 3dsmax user and it took me (from scratch) to model a 500,000+ poly anthro (human animal hybrid) model in about a month

the teeth need a little work, and when you open the mouth, it looks like it's going down evenly instead of hinging (is that a word?) anyway, I couldn't do anywhere near that good, so take my comment with a grain of salt.
