If anyone has any stories or has worked there, please contact me. I'm interested in the history behind this hospital. I'd like to share what a unique hospital it was when it was in operation. I'm tired of the "creepy" stereotype of this place. It was more then that. It was a part of history. I want to showcase that. Please leave me a comment or message me if you have any information on this hospital. Thank you.
I was sent here at age 14, and was locked up on a ward until age 17. That was from 1972 thru 1975. I was ON Greenwich 2A when Joe Gillotte set fire to the linen closet down below on 1A. An old patient died in the fire. They sent us to live in Litchfield Building. I can tell you so many stories about that hospital... it was a nightmare most of the time.
in my opinion the buildings need to be left alone. i mean, granted its an abandon insane asylum, they're just so cool! i mean, what town can say that they have an abandoned insane asyum. well now apperently newtown cant because people think they need to spend money on renovating or destroying them. they add character. why cant anyone see that?
This is so wrong, this is disappointing. These places should not be coming down at all, they are too invaluable for that. The memories and everything they were, the people that stayed there are getting demolished just because Newtown needs more things? I disagree...
I'm making a documentary about Faifield Hills.

I worked here from 1980 - 1988, I worked in Kent House and Cochran House. And lived in Danbury Hall. It was an experience for a 20 year old !
Send me a message through here if you were there.
