A documentary of Shawn Michaels's 6-8 title foreitures in the 1990s, in the style of Maffew's Botchamania. Shawn Michaels is one of the best performers in WWE history, but boy was he hard to deal with in the 90s!

#1: The Rockers beat the Hart Foundation for the tag team titles, but the match is never aired and their title reign is stricken from the record (possibly because the rope broke, possibly because Jim Neidhart signed an extension with the WWF).

#2: Shawn is stripped of the Intercontinental title for (kayfabe) failing to defend his title within 30 days. In reality, he had tested positive for steroids and was suspended. Razor Ramon later wins the vacant championship.

#3: Shawn and Diesel split up as a tag team, surrendering their titles. The 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly later win the vacant championship and promptly lose them to the Smoking Gunns.

#4: Shawn and Diesel regain the tag team titles, beating Yokozuna and Owen Hart to close the In Your House 3 Pay-Per-View. However, since Owen was pinned in the match, and the British Bulldog had been subbing for Owen in the match, the titles were returned to Yokozuna and Owen Hart, who promptly lose them to the Smoking Gunns.

#5: Shawn Michaels forfeits the Intercontinental title to Dean Douglas, his scheduled opponent for IYH 4, due to injuries suffered at the hands of "nine thugs" (actually 4-9 Marines) outside a Syracuse nightclub. Douglas loses the title to Razor Ramon that same night.

#6: Shawn Michaels's second WWF title reign ends when he vacates the championship due to an ostensible knee injury. Allegedly, he did not want to drop the title to Bret Hart at the upcoming Wrestlemania 13 PPV. He never got the knee surgery.

#7: Shawn Michaels vacates the tag team titles that he won with Stone Cold Steve Austin due to a backstage fight with Bret Hart that kayfabe-aggravated his previous (fake) injury. The fight was real, but HBK actually walked out of the company for several weeks. Austin would team up with Mick Foley (Dude Love) to capture the vacant titles.

#8: HBK is forced to defend his European championship against his DX partner Triple H. Shawn lays down for Hunter to give him the increasingly worthless title.

Final forfeiture tally:
WWF title: 1
IC title: 2
Tag Team title: 3 (one non-canonical)
European: 1 (not technically a forfeiture, but an intentional lay-down)

  • His two non-forfeits:

He lost the WWF Title at Survivors Series 1996 to SID (his friend). But, of course, VINCE made a big deal for the next 2 months about SHAWN more concerned about Jose Lothario than the Belt, and lets Shawn win it back in his home town.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was an unstoppable force and led the charge of the Attitude Era.

  • @draes34 He also lost the IC title to Marty Jannetty in 1993, but won it back a few weeks later.

  • @Art0Donnell

I thought he lost it to Hall aswell or did Hall just sucsefully defend it against him a few times.

I know he lost the WWE title to Tripple H but Shawn realy didnt give a shit about having titles by that point.

  • @TeamTowers1 He didn't technically lose it to Razor; he was suspended, then Razor won the vacant IC title, which he later defended against HBK in the WMX ladder match.

  • I lost my smile watching this.

  • Step 1: Be a complete asshole for an entire decade.

    Step 2: Become a "born-again" Christian.

Step 3: Allow Jesus to forgive you of your sins, thus being able to forgive yourself.

Follow these three steps and you can get away with being a selfish shit just as easy as Shawn did.

  • @kinglbkiv Lol, HHH was with the 'big three' in my opinion. IMO he is the greatest heel of all time, I really believe that. Nobody made me more pissed off than he did. Anyways, I really think the best in SCSA and Rocky came above when they were feuding with HHH. I know, I became a HHH fan, and this is one of the reasons why. :)

  • @Art0Donnell btw great job making this video. thanks!

  • @tee85 lol, he didn't forfeit those titles 'due to a storyline' he forfeited the titles and then a sotryling was built around it. the only two exempt are the first and the last, the first where Vince didn't want to air the match, and the last where he gave it to Hunter

  • Bret Hart never forfeit any champsionship...just saying.

  • The reason he had to drop his belt to Douglas is because he got in a fight at a club in Syracuse NY and Mcmahon was pissed at him for it.

  • @fatooma92 HBK and Triple H didnt save shit! They played a very small role in the attitude era where Austin/Rock gave WWF the highest ratings ever until they left and it tanked again.

  • @tee85 Everything!

  • @SuperJuliusC Better at what????
