1989 was the very early years of PCs. you couldn't really play on a standard pc of the time. a game capable PC would cost a fortune.

Great retrospective :D ....but not really as in depth as i wanted :(
-
I do believe rainbow islands is also on the NES
-
I really love that you're doing this type of retrospective, but you need to do some more research. As other commenters have already pointed out, there's a LOT of incorrect information in your vid.

You need to add the TRS-80 Color Computer to that list of ports.

hey rainbow islands wasnt first released in 1996 i know cause i owned it for nes and until now i had no idea it was rare

I actually grew up on the DOS-version of Bubble Bobble, and on the ancient computer we used it worked just fine, no lag whatsoever. But yeah, the music in that version isn't so hot.
I heard somewhere that in Rainbow Island you play the same main characters as in Bubble Bobble, only reverted back to their original human forms. Also the Atari ST version does have music; it's quite catchy actually.

This game is like an upsidedown Snow bros ;D

I have Bubble Bobble on my graphing calculator

I used to have Parasol Stars on the NES. Never realised until recently it was part of the Bubble Bobble franchise.
"A Really rare game called Rainbow Islands - exclusive to PC DOS, Saturn and Playstation 1".
So it never came out on the Arcade, Commodore 64, Mega Drive, Amstrad, ZX Spectrum, NES, Master System, Game Boy, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, Wonder Swan, Game Boy Color or the FM Towns?
it's pronounced: ZED X Spectrum, and rainbow islands DOES have music, it's red book audio so you can't hear it on an emulator.
Come on dude, it's basic knowledge.
