The Surgery has launched a new campaign for the Bureau of Animal Welfare, to tackle the rising cat overpopulation problem in Victoria. Currently, there are around half a million unowned cats in Victoria, breeding more and more kittens into a life of disease and neglect. Research has attributed that one reason for this problem is that less value is placed on the lives of cats, and as a result they are less likely to be responsibly owned, in comparison to dogs. Based on this insight, the campaign asks 'Who's for cats?', by getting people to question their actions and attitudes towards unowned cats.
