Scratch start tig welding with the harbor freight 80 amp inverter welder. No pedal to control amps, just set it on the machine and go! Great machine for the $$$

  • Question. is this the white machine with a tig torch upgrade? I know some torches have an external line for gas. Just wondering. This would be nice for sheet metal work. I have their 90a mig but need more control and am on a budget. Thank you.

  • @LEterribleONE Yes this is the cheap harbor freight 80 amp inverter. This will not work for thin sheet metal. Its hard to scratch start tig with no amp control on thin metal.

  • the item you are making is it for a quad?

  • @GT03235 Yupp, Custom made nerf bars.

  • Oh, yeah...What gas are you using? I think they gave me an argon/co2 mix this time instead of straight argon for the mig welder.

  • @gocarts2000 You don't . What you do is get a "trumpet" connector at the end of the hose. You screw the hose to the small end, put a quick disconnect (what I have) on the other to hook up to your bottle and the stinger gets clamped onto the 'trumpet' to provide power to the torch.

  • How thick is that metal? I am trying to make a box for a game camera with sheetmetal from a busted dryer but I either can't strike an arc (4 divisions lower than 40) or it burns through it at 2 divisions. What size/metal is your electrode?

  • how do you huck up the gas for that is there a input in the back of the welder

  • is that the 80 amp arc welder to

  • Nice weld.

  • if i have this welder where can i buy just the tig tourch

  • Harbor freight = Junk!!
