THE SPIEL

Isn't she a beaut.
My name is Daniel James. I'm a resident of Offaly, and when the opportunity arose for me to share the uniqueness of this great county, I pounced.

This right here is Mass Rock, one of the legendary attractions this, the faithful county, has to offer.

Now I know what you're thinking "Hey Daniel, it's just a [CENSORED] rock" and you my friend are partly right...but more wrong.

You see this is more that just a rock, this is a mass rock.
Back in the day, Oliver Cromwell said "Irish people, thou shalt not practice thy faith, for if thou doust, thou shalt meet thy maker" in short "Ollie" was saying "[CENSORED] you ireland!".

But the rebellious Irish said "woah woah, is this guy for real? We're not only going to practice our faith, we're gonna practice it from a massive rock!".
So goes the tale behind the use of the Mass Rock.

Scattered throughout Offaly are a number of these rocks, each with its own unique story.

This majestic beast right here is said to have fallen from the stars, some even say it's a kidney stone passed by god.
Others say it was constructed out of hundreds of years of Catholic guilt.
Whatever the reason, this baby right here is one of the top three reasons to visit Offaly.
The other two being the bog, and the abundance of drunken ladies to be taken advantage of..STOP IT!
