Don't "teach" your kids to follow any religion and let them grow up so that they can make a choice for religions themselves??  What are you nuts? Church coffers can't sustain themselves under that model!

@Laszroth That's brutual stuff bro! I'm not religious, but I just didn't think Jesus would have condoned this kind of evil. Some of the Chrisitans I know seem like good people, but on the other hand, I know some religous assholes as well. I suppose it's more about a person's character rather than their religion that matters.

I didn't have anything like the experience you did but I was raised Catholic and questioned it from an early age. I too get caught some moments by old fashioned Catholic guilt but I don't practice. I'd say I'm the same belief wise too, prove to me there's a god and I'll believe, til' then I'm comfortable chilling. The boy from Jesus Camp always stands out to me, I want to save him from what ever it is he's so afraid of. I'm glad you came through it with your self intact.

Thankyou for this. Legislation exists to protect children from all abuse (including emotional). It should be tested in Court because a huge number of credible witnesses on every continent is powerful evidence. Churches have been held accountable for sexual abuse. They should also be held accountable for past and present emotional abuse. Some parents, like your mother, are vulnerable to the influence of unenlightened authority figures promising salvation.
