This is a test level I created using UDK. This is my first level in the Unreal Engine 3, the culmination of about 3 to 4 weeks of learning the engine for my 3D Composition for Interactive Media Class at Columbia College Chicago. I started this project with no experience whatsoever with the UDK and this is the result of 3 to 4 weeks of learning the engine.
Goals of the level that were completed:
-Learn the overall UI of UDK and create a basic subtractive level (two simple rooms) using the preloaded assets from UT3 as well as original 3D work.
-Create a simple, looping, idle animation of an original character in Maya with a working rig, skeleton, and textures. Learn how to import the skeletal mesh along with the animations into UDK, apply textures to the skeletal actor using the Material Editor, and successfully implement it into a Level.
-Use both Unreal Kismet and Matinee to create an animated camera fly-through of the level created that is shown upon loading the level for the first time.
I also used those few weeks to learn other functions of UDK to implement on my own during the creation process. These include:
-Creating a custom for shader using the material editor and photoshop which was applied to a BSP surface to create a mist/fog like effect on the floor of the level.
-Learning how to implement triggers that work with matinee animations through kismet to open doors.
-Creating matinee animations of Interp Actor meshes to attach a light volume/working spotlight to my imported character.
-Creating a matinee animation for the falling fence and using delay events to play the door opening and the fence falling during the camera fly-through matinee sequence. (A toggle was also used to play the dust particle effect when the matinee of the fence falling was completed.
-incorporated sound that was imported to UDK to add effects to the level.
This is my first ever dabble into the Unreal Engine and I really enjoyed using it. I plan on doing personal projects over the summer using all original 3d/audio assets and will post progress over the coming months. Until then, please leave feedback!
(The crates and animated skeletal mesh are my original 3d works, the rest of the assets can be found within UDK and are not my designs. This was simply an exercise to learn how to use UDK and to make a simple level using tools provided.)
I see good results.
I ask you this thing very quick but our company need more members, that bevause i ask you: are you interested to join the qickly company?

@warrockhexer I'm not looking to join a company right now. Still trying to learn more about the software. Also having two more years of school left cuts back on my ability to work for others right now haha.
