Playing around with Angel. It's her first snow ever seen. Angel is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog and she is a relatively new breed of dog that traces its original lineage to an experiment conducted in 1955 in the former Czechoslovak Republic. After initially breeding a German Shepherd Dog with a Carpathian wolf, a plan was worked out to create a hybrid breed that blended the desired qualities of both animals. It was officially recognized as a national breed in the ČSSR in 1982, in 1999 it became FCI standard no. 332, group 1, section 1.
I started with alaskan malamute... first dog ever had and ever trained. Did few mistakes but it looks I did great job with her. Chezhoslovakian wolfdogs are pretty tough cookie to train, have I any chances to have one one day?

@katrinmarley a Tamaskan is about $1000 in the US, they are easier to find in the US too. I've been looking into getting a dog that looks like a wolf, and Czech wolfdog breeders are very hard to find.

I got such a dog one week ago from animal killing station. I did not know that he is that kind of dog! But now I know! His behavior is different to "normal" dogs. But wonderful!!! Yes, he wants to know who is head. But you can show him this with love, care and consequence. Does not react to hard and loud education!!! If you force him, you will break him and than could be dangerous. Respect this kind of dog with lovely consequence!!! They deserve!!!
Merry Christmas
Yours "Happy"!!!

@katrinmarley Get a wolfdog only if you have the mental and physical strength to act as the dominant pack member. Remember, these are WOLFdogs, and will try to dominate. You have to firmly but gently correct their dominant actions. You have to keep your place, or you will lose control of them, and they may be a threat to you and others. If you can handle that, and are experienced, then good luck(:
