  • Usually these methods will not work. Chances are, the clog is caused by grease bulid up, or whatever shit you throw down your drain. You have to take out the P-trap (alot of times its a brass trap and can crumble and break apart when you put a wrench on it). You can use a hand snake, it's like a power snake you just crank it by hand, not that thing this guy is using. Sometimes the blockage is to tough to clear, and sometimes your snake goes up the vent pipe & floppes around on your roof.

  • If you have old cast iron pipes or weak seals DRANO will burn caskest and weak metal!! if it stays in the pipes too long then it will weaken the pipes!!

If you try to plunge with chemicals in the line you run the risk of chemical burn or worse..getting in your eyes!! Please be careful with DRAIN CAUSTIC BASED CHEMICALS!!

  • thanks

  • I am considering getting a drain snake now. My kitchen sink is clogged and my roommates' dishes are getting out of control. I tried some drano but no luck.

  • you're on your way.

  • plunging sounds easier. Plus, the clog might be beyond the trap.

  • why cant you just unscrew the trap and clear it out?

  • how much does that snake usually cost

  • You know what Tony, my sink had clogged once and I tried a plunger on it, nothin, snaking dint work either. Well, it may not be that great an idea but I thought, heck, I got a disposer so, I filled it back up w\ hot water, plugged off the other side of the sink, pulled the disposer stoppper, turned it on, it built up some pressure and blasted out the clog, drained fine from then on ..

  • Your the man!
