A moving scene from Band of Brothers pt. 9. For some reason it really gets me. You can really feel for Webster and Nixon here.

  • Who is Nixon mad at? Webster? Or the Germans?

  • His life, basically. In context, this is soon after Nixon gets a letter from the states telling him that his wife is leaving him and taking all of his stuff. And he's stuck in Europe getting shot at. Gotta feel for the guy.

  • this mini-speech really does sum up for all the American soldiers the futility and useless nature of war. It encapsulates the essence of the entire series. If I were there, i would have felt the same exact thing. Best mini-series of all time. Arguably the best war film of all time.

  • Theyre not just any horses. Theyre German ENGINEERED horses.

  • "you have horses... what were you thinking" LOL LOL LOL best line ever

  • Band of Brothers. Every movie about WW2 before and after will be judged by it. It's the T34 of WW2 movies

  • "Say hello to Ford... and General fuckin' Motors!"

  • Awesome scene

  • @Ligierthegreensun i find it ironic that he asks what they are doing there shoertly before the find the concentration camp. i had read that finding that camp and then seeing oppulance of hitler's eagles nest, the contrast between the victims and their tormentor, haunted him the rest of his life.

  • @AlmostAndThenSome you said it man. I'm not a huge book reader but it was excellent.

  • There is something so moving about this speech. The true weight of war becomes tangible and emotion overwhelms you. Terrific job in every aspect of the series, as well as the book...

  • @NickAnderson16 His wife left him right before.

  • @NickAnderson16 He's identifying with what Web is saying. It's really almost a strange question but it's almost stranger that no one ever asks it before, "what the fuck are we even doing here?" There are a few other scenes where some of the other soldiers in E-Company also question why the hell they're there. Like one scene where Percante is yelling at a replacement and it's a small little line but it gives insight into his feelings about everything. "This fuckin' war ..."
