A short video I made with still pictures at the site of the former USAAF base at Framlingham, Suffolk, UK, Part of the 8th airforce, the 390th BG (Heavy) flew from here in WW2.
The control tower is extant and is open to visitors for free, with the museum beneath.
It is well woth a visit if you are ever in the area.
After the picture montage, there is a video showing a large B-17G built by a local. The diorama it sits on is very well made too, and the simulated motor sound with the props spinning was great to see.

  • My dad was also stationed there in WWII in 1945 and flew several Chowhound missions and prisoner swaps to France. He was in the 390th BG, 568th BS.

  • Very cool. My dad was stationed there during the war.
