I used all 100% cordless tools to build my cabin, when i say cordless I mean hand saw, chisel, axe and draw knife. I also have to hike in 2 miles to access my cabin site and I had to Carry, drag and peel each and every single log in by hand. One day I will build a real log home like your friend, But I'll use power tools and have the logs delivered to me on site like you... also, driving to the site would be neat.

Hi Meph. great observation..and correct..but...most IS done with a chainsaw...that which you saw is just the touching up..so the log fits snug.
I will get some chainsaw cuts for yah..
Thanks Bud!!

I am wondering why you are not using a chainsaw for some of that work I think that it would say allot of time

wow.
I cannot tell, what did you use for the foundation?

The foundation is concrete with a small area to access under the house.

very interesting...never realized how much time and effort went in to fitting each and every log...good job

With everything needing to be so precise, it takes a lot of time to craft each log. Precision is very important or you would not get the tight fit. :)
