I have a vaio pc f series I'm getting a new hard drive (I believe this 1 may have a virus running in the background causing the noise) and I wanted to know if this sound wasn't normal. Well I guess it is but too late I already ordered a new 1 :(

My series VPCF115FG does the same thing...
Sony says they got problem with the processor on this model.
and claimed if we update BIOS then it can be fixed...
So I update the BIOS but still loud as hell.... :(

I gotta admit the fan is very loud, but mine isnt anywhere near that sound level, i would bring it back to the store and get it fixed, i guess theres something wrong with the fan

All the fan needs is a few drops of good lubrication oil. 3-IN-ONE or sewing machine oil is perfect. Honestly, I have fixed so many noisy Vaio's (all different models) using this method and it works perfectly. The only other thing to say is to avoid degreasers such as WD40 which are not viscous enough for the job. Honestly, a few drops of oil on the spindle is all that is required.

I Have Sony's Vaio series and it works very badly VPCEB1S1 makes more noise every 2 or 3 minutes and often blocks the mouse. This happens almost every day

mine is the same when i play a dvd but it stops after 40 seconds 30 minutes later it does the same
