This person is a total idiot. Too bad Northern Va isn't populated by Virginians. If it were he would have been laughed at then elected. This person is fool who doesn't know his history. It was the Democrats who were blocking civil right in every way except Johnson and the Republicans. No Mr. Moran, it will be us the American people who will save our society when we kick your sorry ass out of office.. You're a real piece of shit.

@jdavidmorgan We'll have to agree to disagree. I look at how ineffective Govt spending is now and it just confirms what honest economist know...those that actually acknowledge the math.
The system would NOT have failed, after all, nothing goes to zero. The market would have reached equilibrium. The right people would take the losses and those who bought the assets of the bankrupt companies would have put it to work right away thus the economy would have recovered MUCH faster without debt.

Jim Moran says his objective is a meritocracy. I think the Stimulus package he helped carve out demonstrates his true belief.

Democrat regulatory manipulation with anti-competitive advantages to the Bailout Banks created the moral hazard and the housing bubble. It takes one google search to determine Jim Moran is not telling the truth to his constituents..
FDRs spending made the Depression great. When Government spends consumers, investors, businesses and the poor can not spend...so the spending held down America's recovery.
He is entitled to his opinion but he is not entitled to his own facts.
The Johnson's "War on Povery" destroyed our urban centers.

@1isaM111er An interesting inversion of history. FDR saved capitalism - the free market (like democracy) is not perfect. It has a tendency - if let unchecked - to produce deeper and deeper recessions as part of the cycle. Sometimes it needs correcting, which it can't do itself. Surely some state intervention is preferable to allowing a system to fail ever increasing people - and allowing support to grow for more radical solutions.
