Theresa Marie Schindler was born on December 3rd, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in the Huntingdon Valley area of Lower Moreland Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia as the eldest of three children born to Mary and Bob schindler. She graduated in 1981 from Archbishop Wood Catholic High School. Terri met Michael Schiavo in 1982 in a sociology class at Bucks County Community College. After dating for five months, the couple became engaged and were married on November 10, 1984, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Southampton, Pennsylvania. In April of 1986, they moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, to live in her parents' condo. Bob and Mary Schindler moved to St. Petersburg three months later. Terri was then working at Prudential insurance company as a claims clerk while Michael managed a restaurant.

On the morning of February 25, 1990, at approximately 4:30 a.m. EST, Terri Schiavo supposedly collapsed in the hallway of their St. Petersburg apartment. Firefighters and paramedics arrived in response to Michael's 9-1-1 call and found her face-down, not breathing, had no pulse, and was unconscious. They attempted to resuscitate Terri, defibrillated her heart several times before transporting her to Humana Northside Hospital where she had been intubated, ventilated, and restored breathing through a tracheotomy. However, the long period without oxygen led to profound brain injury.

It had always been assumed by the mainstream press that Terri's condition resulted from cardiac arrest caused by an imbalance of electrolytes in her blood. However we know now by Pinellas county medical examiner, Dr. Jon Thogmartin autopsy report: that Terri Schiavo most likely did not suffer from an eating disorder and did not collapse due to a heart attack.

His autopsy report included the following two statements:

1) The main piece of evidence supporting a diagnosis of Bulimia Nervosa is suspect or, at least, can be explained by her clinical condition at the time of the blood draw.

2) The common term "heart attack" is generally reserved to describe the medical condition of myocardial infarction. Mrs. Schiavo's heart was anatomically normal without any area of recent or remote myocardial infarction.

  • Ever notice how many Asians come to America, and not one of them has any sort of disability? That's because in Asia, if a child is under 1 year of age and shows signs of a disability, it's recommended that the parents have the child put down and try again. Adults who develop a disability later in life get moved out of town to a community for people with disabilities, to keep their main cities free of all illnesses.

  • Hmmm so we should murder all children with disabilities? or put down as you say so euphemistically. Would that include the 40 million American autistic children in this country?

Segregation too, just put us all in the nursing homes and institutions so we can be quietly starved and dehydrated by people who think like you.

  • It really disgusts me hearing these right wing nut jobs comparing people who are brain dead in a coma to people who are mentally or physically disabled. This gross comparison is almost as bad as PETA comparing meat companies to the holocost. These people say its inhuman to starve people, I think its inhuman to force people to live while there is no hope of recovery...Only an act of god, a true miracle, could have healed her brain...

  • You wonder what the world's coming to when the rescurer calls their lawyer before calling for help.

  • Last year, I saw a documentory that showed malformed kids and people with disabilities all kept in a very primitative type hospital, with row after row of beds in a large room. Showed how the rest of society went forwards while the misfortunate were put somewhere, out of the way. It was either filmed in Korea or China. If I can find it, I'll post it.

  • @BLUEGRASSJAMMIN Looking at your Spelling, I hope they let you back into Grade One. You need help! LOL

  • I do not think that way. I only said it because of the way I was treated in Canada. In 1970 I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and was banned from returning to school for Public Safety. In a letter, our Government claimed... "The Safety of Thousands is More Important than the Satisfaction of Just One." When I reached age 18, I was declaired "Unemployable for Public Safety" and sent to live in a Home for the Handicapped where I was sexually fixed, which I'm told was mandatory.

  • @HeatherGloria bad people are everywhere, michael was an abuser, and he did not love that woman, like any abuser they think women are property like dogs

  • @MatthewFordVictoria MOTHAH FUCKINVIOLENT; YOUR A PO EXCUSE OF MAN, I HOPE SOMEONE PUTS YOU OUT OF YOUR MISERY

  • The post of Matthew Ford Victoria (a pseudonym) is a bizarre declaration about "Asians" if I ever read one. I was just watching a wonderful documentary about Chinese disabled persons 20 years after a quake, who were injured, and have wonderful care and an excellent facility including musical therapy. His or her notions about Asians demonstrate a horrid idea about "Asians".

  • Whe's the narrator? Ferris Bueller's teacher?

    "Bueller? Bueller?......Frye? Frye?"
