Just got back yesterday and what a life altering expereience it was. The people are amazing and the land is jaw dropping but there is still healing that needs to be done and for some the gate for healing has not opened but for some it has and they are accepting the healing and are grateull for all that we are there to do for them. The Lokaota are truly amazing people and Godbless all who go to pineridge and Re member to help the healing process.

What a selfless and heartfelt act! I live 1 state away and wish there was more I could do. Pine Ridge is one of the ugliest kept secrets in America - it makes some parts of inner city America look pleasant, which is a sad and scary thought!

All the donations are nice and I'm sure in some cases do help, but I've seen first hand that as soon as you give things to the residents alot of the stuff is sold off and alcohol or drugs is bought. The solution to the problem here is to build-up Pine Ridge from the inside by giving only the ppl who are clean job training, and accademic aid. Give successfull ppl a reason to stay hire and invest localy. Build a large de-toxing camp for inmates to get clean in or be exiled from the land.

I am headed to the Pine Ridge Oglala-Sioux Reservation in July to run a natural building workshop teaching how to build homes from natural and waste materials, the house will be made from pallets and in filled with light straw clay, an earthen plaster will be applied on the interior and exterior of the home, I am looking for volunteers, and I am taking 8 apprentices to learn this method of home building, for more info click my name and go to my website, see you there!!

Thank you kindly for this upload much appreciated~pCe~

They say they need more houses to adequately house the people of the reservation. But the people of Pine Ridge spend more than four million dollars a year on alcohol. Why don't they spend that money on housing instead?

To anyone who is interested and who will be reading this post. I am a 5th year Landscape Architecture student at Philadelphia University and have heard of the living conditions in which these people are living in on the reservation and would like to do my thesis project on the reservation. I am particularly interested in providing recreational facilities on the reservation and would love to talk with anyone and try and get more information. My e-mail address is brady1522@philau.edu.

I just wish more people were aware of the history. I am white and not born and raised here in US but I know more about the history of these people then most of my american friends.
