Opening credits of the 8-part documentary series Russia's War: Blood Upon the Snow, accompanied by Dmitri Hvorostovsky singing Tears. In fact, this song is heard over the closing credits, but I think it suits the opening perfectly. The entire soundtrack, composed by Stanislas Syrewicz, is excellent. The documentary itself, focusing on Stalin's tyranny and Russian spirit during the WWII, is one of the best I've ever seen. In the original, it is narrated by the late Nigel Hawthorne ("Sir Humphrey" from Yes, Minister), and thanks to its length, it goes very deep into the problems of this period.

  • I have it on VHS...Great documentary...I wish that it would come out on DVD.

  • The music playing is actually the end credits, not the opening credits.
